Frequently Asked Questions

 The CRR (Cal Red Raiders) are a competitive, year-round AAU basketball club for boys (3rd-9th grade).   It was founded in 2005 by coaches Jon Rotz and Matt Clifford. The club originally started with two teams and now fields 10-12 teams each season. Teams are designed to prepare boys to play competitive basketball through high school and beyond.  The CRR are made up of players from the greater Sacramento area. 

 The age range for joining Cal Red Raiders Basketball is between 3rd and 9th grade. 

 AAU Basketball only. 

 There are 1-2 teams per grade level, depending on the season.  There is a minimum of eight players per team and a maximum of eleven.  Add an answer to this item.

 If there are two teams per grade, both teams will practice together through the season.  Teams will be divided into a “Black” team and a “Red” team for each tournament.  The Black team is the more competitive of the two.  Rosters are flexible within the season and players can be moved up or down at the coaching staff’s discretion.  

Club-wide tryouts will take place in late January of each year for our Spring I season.  New players may be added for the Spring and Fall seasons, and we have smaller tryouts prior to those.  Add an answer to this item.

All practices are in the Carmichael area at various facilities within 15 minutes of Jesuit High School. Add an answer to this item.

NO REFUNDS.  It is up the CRR directors to offer club credits depending on each situation.
